About

I’m a twenty-something-year-old woman. And I am an alcoholic.

But that’s only a part of the story of recovery.

This blog is an attempt to understand the rest.

  1. Hi there. So great to see another Irish girl writing her truth. I’m Nicola O’Hanlon, based in Wexford, and have been writing about my own recovery for the past four years. I also run a website http://www.iloverecovery.com about recovery from all kinds of stuff. Keep up the good work.

    1. Hi Nicola, thank you so much for your comment. I’m from Kilkenny, not too far from you – we used to frequent your lovely beaches as kids! I’ve been devouring the posts on your site – there’s some brilliant content on there. Thank you so much for creating a forum like that where people can share their experience.
It’s also great for me to hear of another Irish woman in recovery, seeing as we have such a “special” relationship with alcohol and addiction in Ireland. I appreciate reading your perspective; having gotten sober in the US, it’s great to read that there is good recovery back home (I’ve only dipped my toe in it on visits back).
Thanks again for reaching out – look forward to staying connected! 🙂

  2. Another Irish person! I seem to be running across them a lot of late. Not that it’s a bad thing. Some of my best friends are Irish 🙂 You’re doing a lot of hard work on yourself, and sounds like you’r doing great. Thank you for the follow of my blog – I truly appreciate. I wish you every blessing on your journey of recovery and self-discovery 🙂
